Welcome to Udemy!

I’m excited to help you get started and make the most out of this course.

Let’s quickly go over a few tools and tips to ensure you maximize your learning experience.

We've discussed 8 items in this lecture.

If you spend 3 mins to go through them all, you'll save several hours as you progress through the course.

1. Adjust Playback Speed

I’ll be speaking at my normal pace during the course.

However, you can customize the playback speed:

If I sound a bit slow, increase the speed up from 1.25x (ideal for native english speakers) to 2X.

If I sound too fast, slow it down to 0.75X.

You can adjust the speed using the 1x button on the video player. (Left-Bottom)

2. Enable Captions

This course comes with professional subtitles that you can turn on by clicking the CC (Closed Captions) button, which sits on the left side of settings button, in the bottom-right corner of the video player.

After selecting the caption language you prefer, click on the 'Caption settings' and then you can customize the caption style here (font size and background opacity). Importantly, enable 'Display under video' to show the captions under the video, so that it doesn't hide any important info shown at the bottom.

Captions are a great way to reinforce your understanding as you watch.

3. Use Transcripts

If reading along helps you, use the transcript section to follow the lecture word-for-word. It’s especially useful for note-taking or revisiting key points. Click on the 'Transcript' button shown below with the arrow mark.

4. Feedback & Ratings

At some point, Udemy will ask for feedback about the course:

If you’re not ready yet, just click Ask Me Later and continue learning.

When you’re prepared to rate, select a number of stars that reflects your experience

Write a quick message about what you liked and what could be improved,

Then click Save and Continue.

Your ratings are incredibly important—not just for me, but for future students as well—so please don’t forget to leave a review!

If you find the course too easy, too hard, too fast, or too slow, please don’t rush to leave a negative review.

Of course, if the course is truly terrible, you are free to leave a one-star review, but I’d appreciate it if you gave it a fair chance before making a judgment.
